InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Even though halal certification would make new activity, namely in traceability, this would be very significant to confirm that fresh fruit bunch (FFB) that would be processed, was not a stolen one. FFB was transported clearly (not contaminated by dirt for instance, cow feces, and others) and the supporting materials in the production process should be halal.
Halal certification would trigger pro and contra but it would deliver new value for palm oil products themselves. The certificate would guarantee the quality and cleanliness. These would be the additional values to trade palm oil products in the globe.
To realize halal product guarantee, the government published many regulations, such as, Laws Number 33 / 2014 about Halal Product Guarantee. It is about to regulate the implementation of halal product guarantee in Indonesia and decide some products that should have the halal certificates.
It is hoped, the consumers would be safer to consume and use every product that has halal guarantee.
On the other hand, halal food markets could be significantly increasing because of the increasing demands from Moslem and non-Moslem consumers. This progress could have something to do with the cleanliness, including being free from the dirt, alcohol, and blood.
Indonesia where the Moslem people live the most in Asia, or about 88,1% of the total population, reaches 12,7% of the Moslem population in the world, would keep increasing. The significant increasing Moslem consumers would deliver impacts for gross domestic product and have something to do with the consumers’ behavior. The Moslem consumers should choose, purchase, and use halal products.
These would have something to do with the economy in Indonesia. They could spend about US$ 190,4 billion in food sector. The guarantee of halal product would deliver comfort, safe feeling, and certainty for the available halal products to be taken for advantages. This would escalate additional values for the business (men).
