InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government would solve the integrated one map policy (OMP) to get one basic map which would be unification, accurate, and accountable in the same scale, and would be used by every ministry and institution, including Corruption Eradication Commission (CEC).
OMP itself would be the program to support development, infrastructure procurement, permit publication, concession, rights on land, and policy plans in spatial - base nationally. It is combining 151 thematic maps from many ministries/institutions and would be the basic through four steps, such as, compilation, integration, synchronization, data and geospatial.
Deputy in Region and Spatial Development Coordination Coordinator Ministry in Economy, Wahyu Utomo said that OMP started being used in CEC strategic plans to solve palm oil industrial issues.
“OMP starts being used by law officials, such as, CEC. CEC itself has had its strategic plans and in cooperation with OMP to solve palm oil issues,” Wahyu said in Dialog Forum Merdeka Barat online, Monday.
There were two provinces as pilot projects in this case, they were Central Kalimantan and Riau. The troubled palm oil plantations would be assessed, including about forest regions or not. This would ease CEC to get map and help to stop corruption issues after having OMP.
He also mentioned that CEC and related regions would deliver every relevant information to be put in OMP. “Every official in the regions would cooperate with OMP and BIG to confirm and get accurate palm oil map namely if the plantations are categorized as forest or not,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from Detik.com, Thursday (8/8/2024).
Meanwhile, Dean of Faculty of Geography University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), Danang Sri Hadmoko said that many countries had got OMP, such as, Singapore, South Korea, French, and the United States of America (USA).
“Some countries, for instance, Singapore and South Korea got their IMP. In Europe, French got IGN and USA got its benchmark with their mapping institution, they go forward,” Danang said.
He also mentioned Taiwan got the integrated CCTV data with its geography. Indonesia should get its own method because this is archipelago within tropical condition that cloud would always cover (the land).
"Indonesia should get its own method with is fixed to our different condition. We are the archipelago country and getting wet tropical condition where the cloud always covers up the satellite,” he said. (T2)
