SRP: Optimist to Cover 120 Thousand Hectares

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Smallholders replanting program (SRP) that General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture positively showed its progress. Ardi Praptono, Director of Palm Oil Plants and Various Plants, General Directorate of Plantaiton said, in 2023, SRP covered 50 thousand hectares and in 2024, it is hoped to cover 120 thousand hectares.

The numbers were from those that proposed SRP in SRP online system. By February 2024, SRP kept being in progress that covered 10 thousand hectares per month.

Nevertheless, the issue to escalate SRP fund support from Rp 30 million to be Rp 60 million per hectare, made some smallholders postpone their SRP proposal. They hoped to get fund supports from the new policy.

“SRP implementation online directly helped data and technical recommendation process. In digital system, every smallholder that proposed SRP could directly know the administration and the process they had qualified,” Ardi recently said to InfoSAWIT.

Now SRP would be for one ID of smallholders and their plantations should be maximally four hectares.

By having the positive trend, SRP is hoped to always contribute to escalate plantation productivity and sustainability in palm oil sectors in Indonesia. (T2)
