InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In May 2024, crude palm oil (CPO) production in Indonesia significantly got decreased 5,59% to the previous month to be 3,88 million tons from 4,11 million tons in April 2024. Palm kernel oil (PKO) production did decrease about 25 thousand tons, from 393 thousand tons in April to be 368 thousand tons in May.

Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) reported that year-on-year (YoY) to May 2024, CPO production this year decreased 3,19% to the same period last year.

The domestic consumption in May got escalated 2,64% to be 1,94 million tons to the previous month that reached 1,89 million tons. But the food sectors got decreased a little bit 1,51%, from 862 thousand tons in April to be 849 thousand tons in May.

Oleochemical consumption got decreased from 188 thousand tons in April to be 187 thousand tons in May. Biodiesel consumption significantly got escalated 7,72%, 907 thousand tons in May from 842 thousand tons in the previous month.

“YoY until May 2024, the domestic consumption got escalated 2,06% to the previous year in the same period,” Executive Director of IPOA, Mukti Sardjono said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (30/7/2024). (T2)
