PTPN IV Regional I Medan: Surpass SRP Target

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN - PTPN IV Regional I Medan successfully surpassed the targets in smallholders replanting program (SRP) in July 2024 that laid on about 744,93 hectares from the previous target that should lay on about 500 hectares.

Region Head PTPN IV Regional I Medan, Ahmad Gusmar Harahap said that in the meeting with Director of Institutional Relation, PTPN IV, Irwan Perangin-angin, Friday, 12 July 2024 at the office of PTPN IV Regional I, Medan.

Gusmar said that the achievement would be the internal synergy between PTPN IV Head Office in Jakarta and Regional I in Medan and also external collaboration with other stakeholders. “The collaboration includes the technical development and SRP socialization with Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit PIR Indonesia (Aspekpir Indonesia) on 20 June 2024 at Le Polonia Hotel & Convention Medan. it was attended by more than 100 smallholders in North Sumatera and 50 smallholders from Aceh,” Gusmar said as InfoSAWIT quoted from Pressrelease.id.

In the report, he also mentioned that SRP realization that got technical recommendation from General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture and the fund distribution covered 744,93 hectares. From the numbers, 496,68 hectares were cultivated by four unions, they were, Koperasi Konsumen KUD Aek Raso, Koperasi Meranti Sawit Makmur, Koperasi Produsen Ika Sapatani, and Koperasi Produsen Nahoda Agro Mandiri. The other 248,35 hectares have been planted by GAPOKTAN Aek Raso Maju Bersama, Poktan Pasir Tuntung Jaya, and Koperasi Produsen Bilah Agro Mandiri. “We targed to accomplish the planting by November 2024,” Gusmar said.

Head of Secretariat and Legal, PTPN IV Regional I, Christian Orchard Perangin-Angin in the press conference mentioned that the successful SRP showed the commitment of PTPN IV Regional I to maintain the good agricultural goverancne and would be in synergy with the local. “This success proved that PTPN IV Regional I would exist to deliver big advantages for the people around and encourage to develop social aspects, namely for plantation commodity,” Perangin-angin said.

He also emphasized the institution would always be committed to conduct SRP for the smallholders’ groups, unions by prioritizing precautionary principles and good corporate governance. “We would do the best to realize the program well and would deliver big advantages for the people, but still pay attention to every available regulation,” Perangin-angin said.
