To Deliver Education about Palm Oil: Museum Perkebunan Indonesia-1 Presented Imersive Room

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Museum Perkebunan Indonesia-1 (Musperin) presented immersive room (ImersifINmusperIN), that applied 360 degree – multimedia technology. It was designed as an education program about palm oil plantations namely for the millennial and generation (gen) Z.

It is about 6 x 5 meters. It shows a video called "A Story of The Seed That Changes The World" for about 30 minutes. The immersive room was launched by Director of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA), Eddy Abdurrachman at the Museum Perkebunan Indonesia, Jalan Brigjen Katamso, Medan, Thursday (11/7/2024).

Eddy Abdurrachman appreciated Museum Perkebunan Indonesia for its construction and design. “We hope the immersive room would be the educational program about palm oil, specifically for the public, including the millennial and gen-Z that are in the productive age and the keys to develop this nation,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of PFMA, Saturday (13/7/2024).

He continued and emphasized it would be significant to deliver education about palm oil for it plays significant roles to support and realize sustainable development goals (SDGs). Palm oil industries contributed to provide employment namely in many villages to minimize poverty and economic gap.

Eddy continued many palm oil products are familiar in the society, for instance, palm cooking oil, and it is widely used. “Palm oil can be found in soap, shampoo, detergent, lipstick, cosmetic, personal care, bread, biscuit, creamer, and margarine. Every thing is utilized in micro, small, and medium business – scale,” he said.

Chairman of Advisory Board, Yayasan Musperin, DR (HC) H. Soedjai Kartasasmita emphasized that the content of ImersifINmusperIN room would deliver education about #SawitBaik. The goal is about to realize sustainable palm oil plantations as the mainstay products. It displays 3P (planter, people, and profit) perspective to maintain the balance of sustainability.

“Palm oil is the blessing from the Almighty that we should take for advantages together for the good of the population in the world,” he said.

Chairman of Yayasan Musperin, Rhohan F. Mochtar said that the technology in ImersifINmusperIN room would create sensation that could make every visitor as part of the visual story. (T2)
