CPOPC in UN Forum: Discuss Palm Oil for SDGs

InfoSAWIT, NEW YORK – In the recent days, General Secretary of Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC), Rizal Affandi Lukman attended the United Nations (UN) Politic Forum for sustainable development, 2024 at the Head Quarter of UN, New York, Thursday (11/7/2024).

His presence meant something in the first UN conference to discuss palm oil as the main focus. Rizal said, palm oil would significantly play its roles to realize sustainable development goals (SDGs) and support sustainability globally.

From what InfoSAWIT officially got, Friday (12/7/2024), in his speech, Rizal emphasized palm oil industries significantly contributed to support environmental sustainability and economy globally. He said CPOPC would be committed to promote sustainable practices in every palm oil supply chain.

The meeting would be a new history for CPOPC, an international scale – organization for palm oil producers in the world. With the supports from the UN, he emphasized, it would be significant to get international – scale cooperation to realize SDGs in wider scales.

In the rare chance, he also delivered the challenges in palm oil industries when facing the global scale issues, for instance, climate changes, and sustainable environment. He took every related party to collaborate and get sustainable and inclusive solution(s).

Rizal’s presence in the forum would reinforce not only the position of CPOPC as the leader in palm oil industries, but also mean the commitment to realize SDGs globally. His speech would be concrete evidence that palm oil issues would be the notice for the big stages in the world, namely in the context to maintain the planet for the next generations globally. (T2)
