Discus about Palm Oil Prospects and Challenges: UPR and IPOA Central Kalimantan Conducted Public Lecture

InfoSAWIT, PALANGKARAYA – University of Palangka Raya (UPR) in cooperation with Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) Central Kalimantan Province conducted public lecture on Thursday (27/6/2024) at the Faculty of Agriculture. It was discussing palm oil prospects and challenges as the sustainable mainstay and resource.

Coordinator of IPOA, represented by Head of Advocacy and Legal, Muchtar Tanong said that the public lecture would be part of national scale program. It would be about to socialize the positive about palm oil. He thought, many negative information about palm oil that need to be cleared up.

“For this province has largest areas, it would be bad if palm oil development stops because of negative campaigns,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from Kantor Berita Radio Nasional RRI, Friday (28/6/2024).

Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, UPR, Wilson said that the public lecture would be about to deliver information, understanding for the students about palm oil which dominated the economy in the province. He also hoped, IPOA would get cooperation with the university.

“Besides delivering insight for our students about palm oil plantations, it is hoped the plantations companies and IPOA would cooperate with University of Palangka Raya," he said.

IPOA Executive Secretary of Central Kalimantan, Rawing Rambang mentioned the program would be about to deliver understanding for the people about palm oil. IPOA would cooperate with university to help socialize the good about palm oil.

“Do not misunderstand about palm oil. We always hear negative campaigns. That is why we have to understand that palm oil contributes to regional and national scale – development,” he said. (T2)
