SRP Fund Would Escalate to be Rp 60 Million per Hectare

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Smallholders replanting program (SRP) fund has been approved to get escalated from the previous, Rp 30 million to be Rp 60 million per hectare.

Member of Indonesian Legislators from North Sumatera, Gus Irawan Pasaribu said, the proposal to escalate SRP fund that derived from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) has been approved.

“Prior, it was only Rp 30 million per hectare," Pasaribu said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (13/6/2024).

The politician as the Chairman of Regional Board of Partai Gerindra North Sumatera mentioned that he got complaints from many smallholders namely from southern Tapanuli about SRP fund.

“SRP program fund for all these years would be only Rp 30 million per hectare. This made them not interested because the numbers would not be enough,” he said.

He also emphasized the SRP is something that cannot be postponed. This is significant to make sure that their income would not be decreasing as their plantations get older and not productive anymore.

“By the increasing numbers, I do believe that the smallholders would get more interesting and would help their economy,” Pasaribu said.

He hoped, the people’s economy would get better in the future. “I do hope that every related party would help our smallholders in need to get it and I would supervise it,” he said.

He is committed to keep supervising the realization of SRP so that the increasing fund would be really taken for advantages. It is hoped the smallholders would be more exciting to realize SRP and their plantation productivity and welfare would be escalating. (T2)
