InfoSAWIT, CENTRAL BANGKA – Regent of Central Bangka, Algafry Rahman got the audience from palm oil labors’ associations of Central Bangka in his room, Monday (3/06/2024). It was about to discuss unemployment for hundreds of workers/labors in PT Mutiara Hijau Lestari (MHL) and CV Mutiara Alam Lestari (MAL).
It started from the account block of the two companies because the investigation of tin corruption case. The representatives of the workers told some aspiration for the regent, and hoped the company would operate again. But if this is impossible, they should get their normative rights, such as, severance payment and social insurances.
Regent of Central Bangka, Algafry Rahman said that he was in sympathy with what the workers experienced. He met the Governor in duty of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Safrizal to discuss the issue and would get coordination in the Hall of Mahligai Governor’s Official Office, on Monday (3/06/2024) afternoon.
"We would discuss it with Governor in duty to get the solutioin and we would do the best so that every worker would get their rights,” Bang Ayi, his nickname said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from Information and Communication Agency, Regency of Central Bangka, Tuesday (4/6/2024).
He hoped every party should be patient and having big hearts that issue would be followed up by the regency. One issue that the workers are facing is that they could not use their social insurance and it is being coordinated with health agency and related instances. The documents for the banks about the workers’ account are being processed. “Be patient and hope that we could solve every issue,” Algafry said. (T2)
