InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) keeps reinforcing the existence in environmental research and development by focusing one sector – palm oil. As one institution that got Grant Riset Sawit (GRS) program, Directorate of Research and People’ Service or Direktorat Riset dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DRPM) ITS did monitoring and evaluation (monev) about palm oil research in the hall of Research Center ITS, Tuesday (28/5).
It was externally conducted together with Research and Development Committee, Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA). Director of DRPM ITS, Fadlilatul Taufany Ph. D., said that the goal of the activity would be about to monitor the progress of research that the researcher team conducted. “This is about to reinforce, develop, and escalate plantation development and also palm oil industries nationally,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of ITS, Wednesday (29/5/2024).
Taufany also mentioned that it was the first monev directly conducted by PFMA with the goal, to make sure that there had been available research with regulated standards. “If there would be issues, it is hoped to be improved and told to the research team in the evaluation,” he said.
Erwin Widodo, one chairman of the research team in post - harvest and process, said that by the program, the research and ITS developed would significantly deliver impacts for Indonesia. “The program would take research progress that for all these years, the research was only in campus. We even took it to national scale – level,” the lecturer called Eru, said.
By proposing egrek digital innovation, the lecturer in Industry and System Engineer Department of ITS hoped that the research would be really useful for the people. He thought, the innovation should not stop on documents or article only but also be realized for the people. “After the people get the benefits in Indonesia, we hope the innovation would be massively produced to export activity,” he said.
In 2023, ITS successfully be the institution that got grant of GRS the most in Indonesia. The achievement might have something to do with the support from DRPM ITS that delivered spirits for every researcher to get research grant from the external party. “The cooperation has been running since 2018 and we would maintain it well so that the researchers in ITS would have the high spirit to keep innovating,” Taufany said.
