InfoSAWIT, PALU – Tens of smallholders in Central Sulawesi Province would get palm oil cultivation technical training as part of human resource development in palm oil plantation. It is conducted by PT Daya Guna Lestari within full supports from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency and General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture.
It would be running in Palu, Central Sulawesi Province since on 20 to 24 May 2024, about 60 smallholders from Regency of Morowali would join it and divided into two phases.
Lucki Bagus from Fund Distribution Division PFMA said that the institution has some programs, such as, human resource development, scholarship and trainings for smallholders in palm oil plantation. By the training, it is hoped that the smallholders would maximize their plantation productivity. “We are designing counseling and development program for smallholders too,” he said.
Head of Plantation Agency Regency of Morowali, Andi Irman said that the smallholders were enthusiastic to join the training and hoped that they would discuss with the speakers about cultivation technic that they faced. “We also appreciate PFMA for funding smallholders in the trainings," he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (20/5/2024).
Head of Plantation Protection and Production, Plantation and Livestock Agency Central Sulawesi Province, Simpra Tajang said the fund helps from PFMA in the training, smallholders replanting program and infrastructures, would be very good for the smallholders. The facts showed that it was difficult to get fertilizers. It needs palm oil – cow integrated program as the solution to get organic fertilizers for palm oil plantations. Besides, palm oil profit sharing would be prepared for social insurance for them.
Director of PT Daya Guna Lestari, M. Gema Aliza Putra said that the collaboration was very good among the company, PFMA, and General Directorate of Plantation. “The smallholders would get useful advantages,” Gema said.
By the training, it is hoped that the smallholders in the Regency of Morowali would escalate their plantation productivity, governance and would solve every technical issue in the cultivation. (T2)
