Drier Climate: FFB Production of TAPG Got Decreased 5 Percent in 2023

nfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In tahun 2023, PT Triputra Agro Persada, Tbk (TAPG) got decreasing fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production up to 5% compared to the 2022 production.

Director of PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk., Tjandra Karya Hermanto said that this happened for the drier climate namely in the second semester of 2023. He also mentioned that 2023 mwas a challenging year for palm oil industries because El Nino really influenced the production in palm oil producer contries, energy price in the globe which escalate because of geo-politic situation in the world, and escalate production costs, particularly fertilizers.

“Thanks to the full supports of shareholders, and good operational strategies, we successfully sove the 2023 challenges. The company consistently encouraged plantation productivity by optimizing fertilizers and implemented good agricultural practices with the supports of technology and continuous improvement to escalate oil extraction rate (OER),” Tjandra Karya said in PT TAPG public expose that InfoSAWIT watched, Thursday (2/5/2024).

In 2023, the company – included as associated one – produced 3,05 million tons FFB 978 thousand tons CPO with (OER) 23,3%. Kernel crushing plant  (KCP) of the company in Central Kalimantan Province that was established in the second semester of 2023 produced about 6.500 tons palm kernel oil (PKO) until the late of 2023.  

Tjandra Karya continued that the company is optimist that the positive trende would always be in 2024 because the plantation ages of the company are in productive ones or at 12,5 years in average and CPO price that tends to be in the high level.

In the first quarter of 2024, FFB production from the main plantations reached 672 thousand tons or escalated 9% to the same period last year. CPO production in the first quarter 2024 reached 14 thousand tons or increased 7% to the same period last year. CPO production in 2024 could be reaching 995 thousand tons or escalating 1,7% to the 2023 production. (T2)
