InfoSAWIT, BELITUNG – Production-forest region in Village of Pelepak Putih, Sub district of Sijuk, Regency of Belitung, Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province was the target to discipline palm oil plantations by the forest police of Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan Lindung (KPHL) Belantu Mendanau. It was about to protect forest conservation from misuse cultivation or plantations without permits.

Public Relation of KPHL Belantu Mendananu, Agustiar said that the institution did discipline after ‘rider’ team of forest police found palm oil plantations in Dusun Trans Bali, Village of Pelepak Putih, Sub district of Sijuk that grew in production forest region. Based on satellite image, the plantations laid on about 17 hectares.

To discipline the plantations, six forest police officers of KPHL Belantu Mendananu had to get to the location and put on forbidden sign – not to do plantation activity without permit in forest regions. It is the same with the Laws Number 11 / 2020 about Cipta Kerja. Besides, the officers also suggested them to carefully do new planting and should coordinate with KPHL.

Agustiar continued that the people could take advantages on forest region for plantation activity if they obey every available regulation.

“That is why we just reminded that the people need to carefully do activity (in forest regions) and should ask forestry officers,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from Kantor Berita Radio Nasional RRI, Friday (26/4/2024). (T2)
