CPO Exports from Indonesia Escalated 14,63 Percent in January 2024, Some Countries Escalated Demands (Imports)

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Palm oil exports from Indonesia in January 2024 reached 2,802 million tons or escalated 14,63% to December 2023 exports that reached 2,451 million tons.

The biggest one happened to crude palm oil (CPO) that reached 80,47% or from 192 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 347 thousand tons in January 2024. While palm oil derivative products escalated about 14,26% or from 1.683 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 1.922 thousand tons in January 2024.

Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said that in nominal, the biggest increasing exports happened in European Union that reached 188 thousand tons or from 180 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 368 thousand tons in January 2024 (+104,52%), then in Pakistan about 149 thousand tons or from 135 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 284 thousand tons January 2024 (+110,91%).

In Africa the exports reached 107 thousand tons or from 240 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 347 thousand tons in January 2024 (+44,33%) and India they reached 93 thousand tons or from 434 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 527 thousand tons in January 2024.

Mukti continued, as one palm oil importer in the world, China got decreasing imports from Indonesia in January 2023 or 193 thousand tons (from 569 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 375 thousand tons in January 2024/(-4,02%). “United States of America got decreasing imports about 106 thousand tons or from 301 thousand tons in December 2023 to be 195 thousand tons in January 2024 (-35,27%),” Mukti said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (28/3/2024).
