InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Three downstream industrial associations congratulated Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President of Indonesia in 2024-2029.
Gabungan Industri Minyak Nabati Indonesia (GIMNI), Asosiasi Produsen Biofuel Indonesia (APROBI), and Asosiasi Produsen Oleochemical Indonesia (APOLIN) welcome the two by hoping that palm oil downstream industries would be always running and developing renewable energy in Indonesia.
General Election Commission declared that the Number 2 – Candidate won the election by getting 58,6% votes in the 2024 President Election.
Executive Director of GIMNI, Sahat Sinaga believed Prabowo-Gibran would fully commit on palm oil downstream programs.
“I believed Prabowo-Gibran would be very committed in palm oil downstream programs. In the future, Indonesia would have the chance to be Green Fuel King in the world," Sinaga said in the breaking the fast and media gathering in Jakarta that InfoSAWIT attended on Thursday, 21 March 2024,
Sinaga also emphasized it needs to continue the program which has been running so far. He thought when having communication with the team of Prabowo-Gibran, they emphasized to continue the program by improving what it needs.
Besides, GIMNI also proposed to establish Badan Sawit Indonesia to solve overlapping regulations in 17 ministries and institutions that deal with palm oil (sectors).
On the other hand, APROBI thought the government should support biodiesel program as part of transition heading to renewable energy. General Secretary of APROBI, Ernest Gunawan hoped there would be more solid and clear regulation to avoid many interpretations that could threaten the program.
Ernest believed Prabowo-Gibran would make the investor cool down in biofuel industries in Indonesia knowing that the two are committed to escalate biodiesel program.
“We hope the young Vice President, Gibran would better regulation for businessmen. One thing for sure, we would support him and hope to get safer regulations for us as investors,” Ernest said.
meanwhile, APOLIN focused on Harga Gas Bumi Tertentu (HGBT) that delivered positive impacts for oleochemical sector. General Secretary of APOLIN, Rapolo Hutabarat hoped the policy would be continued for longer to deliver certainty of business for the stakeholders.
The policy would deliver additional values for stakeholders from investment, export, tax, and development in the regions.
The impacts from HGBT for oleochemical sectors were the tax realization reached Rp 2,2 trillion in 2021 and Rp 2,9 trillion in 2022. The investment realization reached Rp 1,76 trillion in 2021 and Rp 2,3 trillion in 2022.
“We hope, HGBT would be continued for the next 5 to 10 years,” Hutabarat said. (T2)
