InfoSAWIT, PELALAWAN – Team that consisted of Pelalawan Police, Army, Regional Disaster Agency, RPK of company, and Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA) successfully extinguished the fire in the forests and areas about 15 hectares in Village of Gambut Mutiara, Sub district of Teluk Meranti, Regency of Pelalawan, Riau Province. Police Chief of Riau Province, Irjen Pol Mohammad Iqbal told the team had been extinguishing it for a few days and successfully extinguished the fire in 6 detected hotspots.

“From the check result of the hotspot at Dashboard Lancang Kuning, there were 6 hotspots. Alhamdulillah it was no more and it is in cooling process,” Iqbal said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from media center Riau, Thursday (21/3/2024).

Pelalawan Police Chief, AKBP Suwinto also told the blackout was in difficult spots. It took eight hours to get there. The areas were about 15 hectares and the team is cooling the spots.

“The locations were bushes, there were palm oil trees, and the people’s empty areas. The team is cooling the spots,” Suwinto said.

The team consisted of 89 personals from the police about 35, the army about 4 personals, Regional Disaster Management Agency abuot 10 personals, RPK of PT. THIP about 30 personals, and ten from MPA. Though the fire was successfully extinguished, the team still cooled it down in order not to spread to other locations.

Besides, the team also used tools, such as, 15 motor bikes, 1 GPS, 1 drone, 6 shibaura, 4 mini-striker machines, 1 Honda machine, 1 heavy tools, and 3 speedboats. (T2)
