Palm Oil Plantation Company in Halmahera Selatan Improve the Way for the Villagers after Earth Quake

InfoSAWIT, LABUHA – Infrastructure improvement keeps running in Regency of Halmahera Selatan after a 7,2 magnitude – earth quake hit the region in 2019.  The local government and companies operating in the regency keep improving.

One real sample of infrastructure improvement is by opening access by PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun (PT GMM), a palm oil plantation company of Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group. The way helps the students or villagers to go to SMA Nurul Hasan in Village of Sekely, Sub district of Gane Barat Selatan. It was muddy and many accidents happened namely when the rain fell down.

Aten Sahiba, a figure in Village of Sekely told that it is very important to improve the way because many students pass through. He also thanked the corporate social responsibility (CSR) from PT GMM by improving the way.

As in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, not only for the students, many villagers get massive impacts for the access improvement. A villager of Gene Dalam, Zainulfuad told it was difficult when way was not improved yet. They had to use boat and walked to get to the other village. By the improvement, the transportation access now gets better and the cost is more economic.

Infrastructure improvement is one focus of CSR of PT GMM to help the villagers’ social economic recovery after the earth quake. Mahdi Md Nur, Public Relation of PT GMM told that the program would be always sustainable namely to improve the way and religious places. (T2)
