West Sulawesi: SRP Fund Would Cover about 3.250 Hectares in 3 Regencies

InfoSAWIT, KENDARI – To escalate palm oil plantation productivity and smallholders’ welfare in West Sulawesi Province, Plantation Agency West Sulawesi did significant cooperation with General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture about smallholders replanting program (SRP) fund support in 2024.

Head of Plantation Agency West Sulawesi Province, Herdin Ismail and Director of Palm Oil Plantation and Various Palm General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Ardi Praptono who is also Chairman of SRP Secretariat in the directorate, signed cooperation in the coordination meeting about SRP acceleration in Hotel Pullman, Jakarta Central Park Podomoro City, West Jakarta Barat, Monday, 4 March 2024.

SRP is one national strategic program as regulated in the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture (RMA) 03 / 2022 junto (jo) RMA Number 19 / 2023. The program would over human resource development, research and development, and infrastructure in palm oil plantations.

In 2024, West Sulawesi got SRP target about 3.250 hectares in three regencies, they are, Pasangkayu about 1.000 hectares, Mamuju about 2.000 hectares, and Polewali Mandar about 250 hectares.

Herdin Ismail hoped that the cooperation would be running well with the full spirit from the people particularly from the smallholders in the province. He thought, the cooperation would be the real proof that the province, through plantation agency fully supports to escalate palm oil plantation productivity and people’s welfare.

He also emphasized the SRP would be the strong base for the smallholders and related stakeholders to escalate the productivity, welfare the people and realize food security nationally.
