InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) recently conducted the 14th Malaysian Palm Oil Industrial Discussion (MPOID) with Minister of Plantation and Commodity, Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.
It was about to be a significant platform for every stakeholder in palm oil sector in the country to get involved in relevant issues and the future of these industries.
As InfoSAWIT quoted from MPOC, Monday (26/2/2024), there were 33 delegation members that represented 13 main association in palm oil sectors in Malaysia. They actively participated in the dialog. Moderated by the Chairman of MPOC, Dato’ Carl Bek-Nielsen, the session discussed many topics, such as, labors, tax structure, food security standards, environment, and the impacts of domestic and international level – regulations for the industries.
The main focus of the dialog was details about challenges and opportunities that smallholders faced. It covered about the perspectives from Semenanjung and East Malaysia. It delivered platform for every stakeholder to tell their sorry and would collaborate to get potential solutions.
It was attended by many representatives, such as, senior management in MPOC, Malaysian Palm Oil Board, Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC), and five different divisions from Ministry of Industry and Commodity. They collectively discussed wider spectrum of the issues. (T2)
