InfoSAWIT, BELITUNG TIMUR – Palm oil plantation company - PT Sahabat Mewah dan Makmur (SMM), the subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. (ANJ) officially constructed Balai Dusun in Dusun Air Ruak Dua, Village of Simpang Tiga, Regency of Belitung Timur on Wednesday (21/02/2024).
It was officially done by Regent of Belitung Timur, Burhanudin and Director of SMM, Juli Wankara Purba.
In his speech, Juli Wankara Purba told that the construction of Balai Dusun is the realization of commitment of th company in social sector to make the people (villagers) around go forward. Purba also hoped that Balai Dusun would be activity center for the villagers, such as, education, and lais leaves craftsmen group development.
“Lais Leaves Groups in Village of Simpang Tiga are the groups that SMM develops and they showed the good progress, delivered economic impacts for the villagers around,” Purba said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (22/2/2024).
Balai Dusun would be having the function as the programs in SMM to plant lais trees in conservation areas around the riverside. The plan is about to get replanting program there. Purba also hoped the facility would be well used, the collaboration between the village and the company would be escalating and the company develops not by itself but the village will get prosperity.
Representing the villagers of Simpang Tiga, Wasni who attended the inauguration, told her appreciation to SMM for the construction in the region. Wasni told the hall would be very important for the villagers because they never had a place to gather. Wasni told the villagers would patiently wait for it.
Meanwhile, Regent of Belitung Timur, Burhanudin did appreciated SMM for constructing Balai Dusun. He hoped it would be the center of productive activity development sustainably, would get the potential from the villagers in Air Ruak Dua and Simpang Tiga, and would encourage the village to go forward.
Burhanudin also told the construction of Balai Dusun is the implementation commitment of SMM to develop the villagers around the operational of the company. The construction process also involved the villagers by having discussion about business rights that would get replantation program as public facility. It is constructed out of business rights or around Dusun Air Ruak Dua.
SMM would support them to develop the people’s socio-economic sector, support lais leaves groups by providing the materials from lais tree – replanting around the riverside. Besides, Koperasi Mitra Anugrah (KMA), as the partner of SMM got the first sisa hasil kebun (SHK) in 2024 because it got positive balance. The support to the partner in palm oil sector (KMA) covered Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil certificates in 2023.
The construction of Balai Dusun Air Ruak Dua would be about for the next three months. It would be completed by stage for creative activity, rooms to have meeting, and administration for villagers’ officials.. (T2)
