Smallholders Should Vote in Election Day

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Chairman of Serikat Petani Kelapa Sawit (SPKS), Sabarudin suggested to every smallholder to vote in the election day peacefully. Tey have to take their families to vote.

He also emphasized it is important to take participation in the election day as one very strategic action. He also confirmed that the organization suggested to every member through WhatsApp group to vote this day, Wednesday 14 February 2024.

Besides to be optimally participating, SPKS proposed the smallholders to postpone their activities in the plantations, for instance, harvesting, nursing in the morning to vote where they should in their own regions.

“The election day would deliver massive implication to get the new leaders in legislation and executive. They would determine every future policy in palm oil industries,” Sabarudin said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Wednesday (14/2/2024).

Besides voting, the smallholders should actively monitor every process in the 2024 election in their own region to make sure that it would run as available regulation.

In this context, the smallholders’ active participation and supervision would significantly contribute in transparent, fair, and democratic election process. The spirit to get better future for palm oil industries, as SPKS suggested, would be the leap to get sustainable progress and development. (T2)
