InfoSAWIT, PONTIANAK – Chairman of Gabungan Pelaku dan Pemerhati Sistem Integrasi Sapi-Kelapa Sawit (GAPENSISKA), Joko Iriantono sai that palm oil plantations laid on about 16,3 million hectares. The big potential delivers chance to implement palm oil – cow integrated program to become the solution on fulfilling beef supplies in national scale.
This is the strategic thing to nationally support food security. The second international scale seminar ‘Integrated Cattle and Oil Palm Production’ (ICOP) in 2024 with the theme “Synergizing Growth and Sustainability: Innovating Integrated Cattle and Oil Palm Plantation Systems” would show up many research results to develop the strategies to escalate and support food security in national scale.
He hoped that the event would deliver additional assessment significantly to develop palm oil plantations. He delivered understanding that palm oil plantations play significant roles to realize food independency.
Palm oil plantations have potential in producing much vegetable oil, provide business chances that would be profitable by implementing palm oil – cow integrated program. “This seminar should be the stage to discuss, develop many studies about research development in this sector,” he said in a Welcome Dinner of the 2nd ICOP Conference 2024 that InfoSAWIT attended, Sunday (28/1/2024).
Joko said the program would create one business package which is sustainable and significantly delivering economic advantages. “Through the collaboration among stakeholders and integrated system observers, it is hoped to positively contribute for food security and palm oil plantation development in Indonesia,” he said.
