InfoSAWIT, KAYUAGUNG – Hundred villagers of Pelimbangan, Sub district of Cengal, District of Ogan Komering (OKI) thought, they were betrayed by PT Samora, a palm oil plantation company that operates in their village. The villagers sold their areas for about 6.000 hectares, just only Rp 1.000.000 per hectare. Now they face bad things for the plasma promise by the company is not realized yet.

Since in the beginning, the local let go their areas by hoping would get good advantages with some agreements. But now after the company harvested the 6.000 hectares, the villagers felt disappointed for not having plasma plantations.

One villager, Junaidi told to the press on Thursday (25/1/2024) that they were promised to get plasma plantations with the numbers of families but until now it is not realized still. Junaidi also questiond it for the officials in the village but they have to hand over another 1.000 hectares that have not been cultivate as the condition to get plasma program.

“In the beginning, we were promised that one family would get one plasma document but it is not realized until now,” he said, as quoted from Beritakajang.com.

The villagers are thrown away and finally they should complain to the head of Sub district of Cengal by hoping that the institution would facilitate to accomplish the issue. Head of Sub district of Cengal, H. Musa Panitan confirmed that the villagers met him and according to the procedures, head of sub district would help the villagers to complain to the head of Village of Pelimbangan to clarify and solve it.

On the other hand, PT Samora through Assistant Head, Pau told that plasma issue is only about data and the villagers should directly question to the village. But the answer did not satisfy the villagers and thought that there should be agreement to be realized and welfare them. (T2)
