Riau Province Encouraged Commitments of Palm Oil Companies to Implement FPKM

InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU – Assistant I in People’s Welfare and Government Pekanbaru Secretariat, Masykur Tarmizi led the meeting to discuss Fasilitas Pembangunan Kebun Masyarakat (FPKM) or People’s Plantation Development Facility with palm oil plantation companies.

Director of Plantation Product Marketing and Process General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Prayudi Syamsuri explained and socialized about FPKM in the meeting. It was running in Balai Serindit in Pekanbaru, attended by many regents on Wednesday (24/1/2024).

Masykur Tarmizi said the meeting would cover the order and socialization about FPKM particularly in association with the villagers in village of Tebing Tinggi Okura and PT Surya Intisari Raya (SIR) in Pekanbaru. Though Ministry of Agricuture obliges that palm oil plantation companies should do FPKM about 20 percent, Masykur emphasized the lead would be general and not refer to specific issue between both parties.

There were representatives of the company in the meeting and Masykur Tarmizi told that the company should commit to realize FPKM. "FPKM should be realized. We would get detail technic about optimum calculation regulated by the regulations,” he said, as quoted from InfoPublik.

City of Pekanbaru is committed to socialize information about FPKM for the villagers of Tebing Tinggi Okura so that they themselves would not calculate or assume only. Masykur would also coordinate with head of plantation agency Riau Province to confirm FPKM would be realized as the available regulations. (T2)
