InfoSAWIT, PALEMBANG – In 2017 to 2023, Plantation Agency South Sumatera Province did realize smallholders replanting program (SRP) about 69.965 hectares. Head of SRP South Sumatera Plantation Agency, Muhammad Ikhwan told that the numbers were from technical recommendation published by General Directorate of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture.
SRP realization in South Sumatera Province were done by chipping about 49.170 hectares and planted palm oil trees about 46.615 hectares. The program involved 29.307 planters within 27.778 families. SRP covered nine districts and cities, they were, Musi Rawas Utara, Musi Rawas, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Komering Ilir, Banyuasin, Prabumulih, Muara Enim, Ogan Komering Ulu, and Lahat.
Though SRP targets in 2023 covered 15.050 hectares, the realization covered 11.639 hectares. But South Sumatera Province was the largest one in SRP realization.
The fund spent in the SRP reached Rp 1,4 trillion with fund realization about Rp 1,1 trillion. The fund was from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency and Ministry of Agriculture through General Directorate of Plantation. SRP fund should be delivered for a smallholder per ID about Rp 30 million per hectare.
As quoted from Antara, Muhammad Ikhwan also told issues in realizing SRP, such as, area legal, plantations in forest regions, and overlapping issues with business rights and the smallholders dealt with everything. Besides, some groups were late to complete their documents about legal and other conditions.
With the realization, SRP in South Sumatera would be positive for plantation and escalating the smallholders’ welfare. Though there were issues, everything would be done to realize the targets to get sustainable palm oil in the province. (T2)
