Nias Utara: Would Focus to Identify and Develop Palm Oil Plantations

InfoSAWIT, NIAS UTARA – Food Security and Agriculture, District of Nias Utara is making data and location verification about palm oil plantation potential in the region. Head of the agency, Idaman Johan Hulu said that the verification priority would be to the areas that start being developed by the people in person.

The focus of verification location would be in Sub districts of Afulu, Sawo, Tuhemberua, Lahewa, and Lahewa Timur. The team from the agency would see the locations to know palm oil plantation potential to be developed.

As InfoSAWIT quoted from RRI, Idaman Johan Hulu told that this would be the follow up from Government’s Regulation Number 38 / 2023 about Palm Oil Profit Sharing of Sustainable Palm Oil and the Regulation of Minister of Finance Number 91 / 2023 about Palm Oil Profit Sharing Management of Sustainable Palm Oil

“If there are investors would invest in palm oil in Nias Utara, the regional government would coordinate with central government and the local people. The goal is about to develop palm oil plantations in the district,” Idaman said in a press conference, Thursday (4/1/2024).

The collaborative approach amng the central, regional governments, and the local people would create synergy that would be profitable to develop palm oil plantations. Besides, this would be the positive contribution to the local economy and obey the regulation about sustainable palm oil plantation development. (T2)
