InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA –In 2018, palm oil plantations in Indonesia got wider fast in land use and crude palm oil (CPO) production did increase. They happened for the increasing palm oil companies and the plantations laid about on 14,33 million hectares.
But in 2019 to 2022, palm oil plantation almost stagnantly developed. The project in 2022 showed that they laid about on 15,34 million hectares, according to the data as InfoSAWIT quoted from Buku Statistik Kelapa Sawit Indonesia 2022 published by Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS) Indonesia.
Still from the same source, palm oil plantations developed in 26 provinces in Sumatera, Kalimantan, West Java, Banten, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, and West Papua.
Riau was the biggest producer in 2022 that contributed 18,70 percent of the total plantations that laid on 2,87 million hectares.
“Of the numbers, Riau Province produced 8,74 million tons CPO in 2022,” the book noted.
Though the plantations developed, the 2022 cultivation structures remained stable that big private companies dominated for about 56 percent of the total areas, then people’s plantation about 40,51 percent, and the rests, 3,57 percent were dominated by the country. (T2)
