InfoSAWIT, SAMPIT – Regent of Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim), Central Kalimantan Province, Halikinnor would solve the issue abut palm oil stealing in many plantations in the region. He said that when having end year – evaluation meeting in District of Kotim with the regional forum. It was also attended by Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA).
Halikinnor also told that the meeting with IPOA would be in this very short to solve palm oil stealing so that the region would remain safe and conducive particularly in investment.
“In this very short, we would meet and discuss it with regional forum and IPOA,” he said, as quoted from Antara.
Deputy Chief of Kotim Police, Kompol Yosep Thomas Tortet told that conventional crime increased 32 percent in 2023 to 2022. The stealing and fraud were dominant in the case particularly palm oil stealing in the plantations.
Back to Halikinnor, he responded the issue and would take what the people claim about plasma realization from palm oil companies. He emphasized it needs to get the solution together on the issue.
The stealing that started from other region now happens in Kotim as the claim of plasma realizatioin from the companies that does not implement it. But the stealing also happened to the companies that implement plasma program.
District of Kotim, Police of Kotim, Army 1015/Sampit have established special team to the case, blocked the access to companies’ palm oil plantations from the surroundings and public ways.
Halikinnor was sorry for the situation and should get the same solution so that the people got their rights and the companies are cooperative to realize their promise. He also told that it needs to maintain good investment in the region for delivering impacts for the local economy. He does not want that the same condition happens in District of Seruyan where many palm oil plantations are not operating because of the stealing. (T2)
