India: Get Palm Oil Supply from Malaysia to be 6 Million Tons

InfoSAWIT, SEBUYAU Vice Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof announced that crude palm oil (CPO) exports to India positively increased as the increasing demands from India to be six million ton.

Fadillah Yusof who is also as Minister of Commodity and Plantation Malaysia, mentioned that the ministry is formulating whatever it takes to fulfill what India needs of.

Malaysia exported hardly four million metric tons of CPO to India. This made India as the biggest CPO importer but Malaysia should consider strategies and others to fulfill 6 million metric tons to India.

As InfoSAWIT quoted from Bernama, Fadillah Yusof mentioned to some media in Trek Komoditi 2023 in Sarawak that it is impossible to trade every CPO production to only one country. That is why Malaysia still considers what it needs to fulfill the increasing demands from India.

Besides, he also delivered some comments about China’s commitment to palm oil industries in Malaysia by saying that the good cooperation between both countries, such as, product development in palm oil base, significantly delivering profits to escalate CPO exports to China. The cooperation would cover Vitamin A capsule and vegan meat products.

Fadillah also emphasized that the cooperation would deliver not only economic profits only but also reflect principle agreement from China to Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO). This is positive to get new opportunity and escalate palm oil competition from Malaysia in many countries. (T2)
