InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of External Affairs Indonesian Republic, Retno Marsudi delivered appreciation for Netherland for having projects of SustainPalm in Indonesia though there is discrimination from European Union to many commodities in Indonesia, particularly palm oil.

Minister of External Affairs Netherland, Hanke Bruins Slot said that the project would be very significant to encourage cooperation in sustainable palm oil with Indonesia for the green and sustainable future. Indonesia and Netherland would cooperate to solve deforestation issues.

“I would like to thank Indonesia for its big efforts to minimize deforestation in the past years,” Slot said in Jakarta, Tuesday, 31 October 2023.

Until now he also mentioned, Netherland is one biggest sustainable palm importer in European Union. “We are committed to get cooperation with Indonesia to make palm oil sector more sustainable,” Slot said.

Indonesia is ready to cooperate with Malaysia to fight European Union about crude palm oil discrimination.

European Union Deforestation Regulation about product import ban from deforestation is about to confirm that the trade and consumption had nothing to do with deforestation.  (T2)
