Palm Oil Boss in Muba Died by His Own Worker: One Is Arrested

InfoSAWIT, SEKAYU – In the recent days, Village of Talang Leban, Sub district of Batanghari Leko was shocked by a tragic event. Saturday, 21 October 2023 morning, a man called Ahmad Roni (42) was found dead in his own palm oil plantations. The victim, younger broter of Ali Idrus (48) was found in violence signs in his head. Many villagers were shocked and needed answers what happened behind the crime.

Research and Criminal Team Batanghari Leko Police, and Srigala Team of Research and Criminal Team Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Police did their best to intensively investigate why it happened. Finally, the suspect was identified. He is a man called Budi (34), a villager of Talang Leban. Budi was a worker of the victim who worked in his family’s palm oil plantation. Budi was caught on Monday, 23 October 2023.

Police Chief of Batanghari Leko, Iptu Moga Gumilang S.TrK confirm the caught. “We successfully arrested one of the suspects. He is Budi. But the other criminal (his friend) RZ is still wanted. They did the horrifying crime. They persecuted the victim by using wood until the victim deceased in the spot,” Gumilang said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of Indonesian Police Public Relation, Monday (30/10/2023).

The police is still investigating the motive behind the crime. “We are still investigating the case,” Gumilang said.

The suspects would be charged in many chapters, including Chapter 340 Criminal Code about planned murder, subsidiary Chapter 338 Criminal Code about murder and more subsidiary Chapter 351 article (3) Criminal Code about torture to someone that ended to deceased. The suspect might be charged to death penalty, life in prison or 20 years in jail. (T2)
