InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In the BNI Investor Daily Summit event on October 24 – 25, 2023 in Hutan Kota by Plataran, it discussed about the future economy of Indonesia in the green era. With the theme "Seeing Green: Where Are All of Indonesia’s Green Economy Projects?", Director of PT BNI Sekuritas, Agung Prabowo and other speakers discussed crucial issues about green economy in this country.
Green economy which is a concept that many countries focus on, would have three main pillars, they are, sustainable economy within efficient resource use and taking advantages on renewable energy; economic activity within low carbon emission; and economy equity through social inclusivity. But green economy would not be realized without the strong support from law official and adequate public policies.
Agung Prabowo thought that the Government of Indonesia is committed to realize green economic progress for the past one decade. These include the establishment of sectoral groups as the strategies to realize green economic goals which are the same with the reference of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
“The successful implementation of this green economic progress would depend on other economic sectors that play roles to create changes positively,” Agung said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from InfoSAWIT JAWA recently.
He also noticed though Indonesia is on the right track to realize green economy, big challenges are ahead still, such as, to make sure effective and sustainable policy(ies) implemented. To solve the issues, Agung emphasized it needs to get good cooperation among the governments, private, and the people to create sustainable economy and healthy environment.
Other panelists, such as, Agung Prabowo, Iman Hilmansah (Director of Finance PT Pertamina New Renewables Energy), and Bobby Gafur Uman (Director of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk) discussed concrete strategies to accelerate green economic progress in Indonesia. One important conclusion from the discussion was it needs firm legal and public policy as the framework to support green economic implementation in this country. (T1)
