InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Agriculture in duty, Arief Prasetyo Adi and the officials of Ministry of Agriculture got coordination with the member of Ombudsman RI, Yeka Hendra Fatika about public service monitoring in food and agriculture sectors in the office of Ministry of Agriculture (20/10/2023).
Arief asked his officials to maximize the agriculture change – programs. He also urged General Director of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Andi Nur Alam Syah to immediately establish smallholders replanting program (SRP) acceleration, sugarcane and palm oil as biodiesel development and coffee and tea replanting program.
Arief also mentioned the programs in palm oil run well. If it could, the ministry would develop red palm cooking oil mill for planters to be the additional source for them.
“For other commodities, such as, sugarcane, we would get renewable energy in the form of ethanol. We have to get sugar backup to be exported. We never replant tea and coffee plantations. We would get the allocation,” Arief said.
General Director of Plantation, Andi Nur Alamsyah is ready to keep running the programs by preparing the strategies in palm oil governance nationally within Sistem Informasi Perizinan Perkebunan (Siperibun), sustainable palm oil plantation, palm oil taskforce, fresh fruit bunch monitoring taskforce, sugarcane development, and strategies to realize sugarcane consumption – self -sufficiency.
The directorate claimed to get coordination and synergy with related instances, such as, related regional governments, ministry/instance, and others to get the right, fast strategies and solution to realize the program target that the directorate made.
“Sustainable palm oil is the program to mobilize our biodiesel program. Just like Minister of Agriculture in duty ordered, we would develop palm oil and sugarcane because biodiesel would be one solution in renewable energy to substitute fossil fuel that would come to an end. We would also get data in coffee and tea plantations and coordinate with related parties to get replanting,” Andi said. (T2)
