To Boost CPO Production, Holding Perkebunan Develops Sensory System

InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU – Holding Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) has done one massive leap heading to realize digital palm oil plantation by having collaboration between its two subsidiaries, PT Perkebunan Nusantara V and PT Riset Perkebunan Nusantara. The two companies are developing sensory system in mill as part to escalate crude palm oil (CPO) production.

The research in Pabrik Kelapa Sawit (mill) of PTPN V Sei Garo, District of Kampar, Riau Province is focusing to get setting optimization of Level Mass Passed to Digester in Digester Station.

Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara V, Jatmiko Santosa said that the research is in the same spirit of transformation and digitalization that the company has proposed since the past four years.

The research that would be accomplished in November 2023 would have innovative technology package. It is hoped to minimize loss potential, escalate CPO production during the process in digester station which is the crucial element in mill.

Meanwhile Head of Plan, Sustainability and Information Technology, PTPN V, Ifri Handi Lubis told that the research is trying to adopt automatic level control system in digester station. “The goal is about to get CPO production process efficiently and effectively,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (19/10/2023).

In the research, many researchers were noticing the power needed in the motor and applying kill-switch in the motor and other components to set how many fresh fruit bunch (FFB) inside and out from digester kettle. The successful indicator in the research would be measured by some parameters, such as, algorithm delay, wrong algorithm, oil losses, and seed quality. The outcome of the result should escalate productivity in the mill by making digester station work optimally.

More than increasing production, the research would be potential to develop technology package that can be controlled in some distance, such as, by using devices (smart phone). If it effectively works to minimize CPO losses and economic worth, the technology would be applied in other mills of PTPN group to get new standards in palm oil industries.

The innovative things would be the same with digitalization program that PTPN V is reinforcing to fully realized e – plantation program. The integration would cover geospatial based, internet of things, enterprise resource planning (ERP Based), mobile and web apps - based.

Back to Jatmiko Santosa, he said that digitalization is unavoidable to compete and face the future challenges. It would clearly deliver the commitment of the company heading to industry 4.0. (T2)
