InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – To celebrate cultural heritage of Indonesia and commitment to its basic principles, the workers of Wilmar proudly commemorated national Batik Day on Monday, 2 October 2023. Batik which is full of colors and symbolism is the real evidence on deep appreciation of the company toward various culture in Indonesia.
Head of Human Capital Wilmar, Erlina Panitri said that batik is the traditional icon of Indonesia. It is famous with its beautiful design and deep symbolism. Batik has been acknowledged as masterpiece of oral and intengabile heritage by United Nations of Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
“Our workers realize that it is significant to maintain the cultural heritage. We are proud of wearing batik as our respect to the tradition,” she said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (2/10/2023).
Besides celebrating Batik Day, the workers of Wilmar also commemorated Hari Kesaktian Pancasila on 1 October 2023. Pancasila, the five principles that established Indonesia as a country, reflects unity and diversity, the main values which are the same with Wilmar’s commitments to inclusivity and sustainability principles.
Erlina thought, as part of Hari Kesaktian Pancasila celebration, many workers in Wilmar would take part in activities that emphasized unity, diversity, and dedication of the company to corporate’s responsibility. “We are proud and could gather as Wilmar family to celebrate national and cultural events which are very important,” she said.
She continued that the company commits to maintain the cultural heritage and implement the valuable principles of Pancasila. These would reflect the will of every worker to be a citizen of corporate that should be responsible on. The company would try the best that the valuable principles of Pancasila could be realized in the workers’ daily activity.
“The celebration would reflect our strong commitment on the cultural heritage of Indonesia and unity in national scale,” Erlina said. (T2)
