InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) production in July 2023 reached 4,35 million tons while palm kernel oil (PKO) production reached 414 thousand tons. The total would be 4,77 million tons.

Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Mukti Sardjono said that the total production was higher than June 2023 production that reached 4,42 million tons. Year on Year (YoY), it increased 17,4% or 4,76 million tons from Year to Date (YTD) July 2022 that reached 27,30 million tons to be 32,06 million tons YTD July 2023.

Mukti also mentioned, total domestic consumption in July 2023 reached 1,75 million tons or lower 10,5% than June 2023 one which reached 1,96 million tons. “It happened for the lack of biodiesel use that reached 19,5% or 174 thousand tons from 893 thousand tons in June 2023 to be 719 thousand tons in June 2023,” Mukti said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Friday (29/9/2023).

The same happened to oil food and oleochemical that decreased 3,1% and 2,6% for each. July 2023 oil food consumption reached 853 thousand tons and oleochemical consumption reached 185 thousand tons. “While June 2023, oil food consumption reached 880 thousand tons and oleochemical reached about 190 thousand tons,” Mukti said.
