Talkshow Planters of West Kalimantan: Discussed Harvesting Technic, Certified Seeds in Replanting

InfoSAWIT, PONTIANAK – To deliver the right education about palm oil cultivation based on good agricultural practices (GAP), Indonesian Planters Society (IPS) did Talkshow Planters in Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province, Saturday (18/3/2023).

Chairman of IPS, Jamalul said the event was about to deliver education, transfer knowledge of field practices for the participants which many joined, such as, from smallholders, coordinators in koperasi unit desa, workers in many big palm oil plantation companies.

At least, the event with the theme “Peningkatan Kompetensi Stakeholder Kelapa Sawit Khususnya Pekebun Rakyat menuju Sawit Baik oleh Para Professional Planters” would discuss three significant points about palm oil cultivation, such as, the first session, it discussed about effective and efficient harvest process in palm oil plantations.

The second session, it discussed about effective and efficient fertilization and the application of organic fertilizer in palm oil plantations. “The third session, it discussed about effective and efficient replanting program, and the planting of superior seeds in palm oil plantations,” he said in his speech at Hotel Mercure, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Saturday (18/3/2023), as in the official information to InfoSAWIT.

He also said, the event should be the important and interesting one for stakeholders for presenting competent speakers in their fields within tens of year skill – experience.

“The event was supported by the regional government through Plantation Agency West Kalimantan Province to discuss and get solution from every field issue,” he said.

Jamalul continued, this was the same with the government’s program through Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency to escalate planters’ competency that the experienced practitioners delivered. In the future, palm oil plantations in Indonesia would keep developing.

“In this occasion we also suggest our members and participants to really contribute well in thoughts to get our palm oil plantation go forward,” Jamalul said. (T2)
