InfoSAWIT, BANGKINANG – Regent in duty of Kampar, Kamsol said, days before Asosiasi Kabupaten Penghasil Sawit Indonesia (AKPSI) told four main issues in palm oil that central government should immediately deliver solutions.
They are, smallholders’ protection and empowerment; the second, social are conflicts; the third, environmental sustainability; and the fourth, to escalate the added values from palm oil industries.
Kamsol also urged the central government to make palm oil as the mainstay commodity, not only as the source of food but also for others. “Just like biodiesel development which is developing from B20, B30, and the next would be B40. It means, palm oil needs would be higher and has influences particularly which now gets cheaper,” Kamsol who is also as General Secretary of AKPSI, said.
Prior AKPSI told 13 claims, such as, Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) should revise the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture about the Guidelines to decide Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Price and Palm Oil Plantation Product by including kernel and shell to calculate FFB price.
The second, the central government should publish regulation about palm oil which functions to palm oil governance nationally. The third, it needs to establish an agency that regulates palm oil governance from the upstream to downstream sectors and the authority of monitoring and retribution. Kamsol said, AKPSI is ready to formulate the draft to be officially inaugurated by the central government.
The fourth, the central government should publish circulars to big private palm oil companies to open the branch access and legal permit of the companies to the heads of palm oil producer regions.
The fifth, the regents in AKPSI should deliver recommendation to the central government to give authority to the heads of regions to get retribution Rp 25/Kg of FFB from their regions. (T5)
