Hardly Two Years The Smallholders in Palas Still Wait for SRP

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Since 2019, the independent smallholders of Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Sawitku Masa Depanku (Samade) District of Padang Lawas (Palas), North Sumatera Province want to join smallholders replanting program (SRP.

The regulation, administrative terms and conditions have been prepared to get the program. Everything was prepared in the early of 2021. In the same year, they had handed over every condition to Agriculture Agency District of Palas.

Chairman of Samade District of Palas, Sutan Barumun Hasibuan said, Agriculture Agency District of Palas sent data and files to Gapoktan Samade through the application to get verification from Plantation Agency North Sumatera Province. After that, Hasibuan continued, everything would be processed in Jakarta in Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA).

“I do not know what happened, but until now there is no answer or what we should get. We are confused now,” Hasibuan told to InfoSAWIT, Monday (12/9/2022).

In other place, Head of Agriculture Agency North Sumatera province, Lies Handayani Siregar emphasized, based on the information delivered by verifier team of Agriculture Agency North Sumatera Province, one thing for sure, there is no application to get SRP program from District of Palas.

Boru Siregar asked for the independent smallholders to re-check and see where their documents (to get SRP) program in the application. “Please, the group should re-check where their files of proposal are now,” she said.

She also reminded that the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture Number 3 / 2022 means that there are changes of application. “The application ran in July,” she said by suggesting the smallholders to re-check theirs. (T5)
