Well done: in West Sulawesi Palm Oil Contributed 90% of the Total Non – Oil and Gas Exchange

InfoSAWIT, MAMUJU – Palm oil plantations develop fast in Sulawesi, precisely in West Sulawesi Province. Regional Secretary of West Sulawesi, Muhammad Idris Dp said, palm oil plantation sector was the biggest non-oil and gas exchange contributor in the province.

He also said, crude palm oil production in the province reached about 261 thousand tons per year and the exchange reached Rp 2,3 billion or about 90 percent of the total commodity exports in the province.

"Palm oil is the mainstay in West Sulawesi because it is the biggest contributor of non-oil and gas exchange in our province,” he said in Mamuju, Wednesday (7/9/2022), as quoted from Antara.

He also mentioned, it is the mainstay commodity and the province supports to escalate the smallholders’ plantation productivity by implementing smallholders replanting program and increasing the infrastructures.

Idris also mentioned, the provincial government would develop human resource in palm oil plantations to improve its governance to be more sustainable. (T2)
