InfoSAWIT, PONTIANAK – Palm oil plantation issues always relates to sustainability. It is admitted or not, both private, government, and smallholders’ plantations implements environmental cultivation.

Head of Livestock and Plantation Agency West Kalimantan Province, Muhammad Munsif said, palm oil plantation governance covers three aspects, they are, environment, economy, and social. He continued the provincial government focuses on the three namely for the smallholders’ plantations. The roles of private plantation companies, he thought, are strategic to help develop the social and environmental plantations.

“We hope the companies would not have fresh fruit bunch (FFB) trade only but also develop the smallholders,” he said when being a speaker in sustainable palm oil seminar conducted by Asosiasi Media Siber Indonesia (AMSI) West Kalimantan, Monday (5/9/2022).

Munsif also mentioned, palm oil plantation companies also exist to help independent smallholders to get Cultivation Documents. “And urge the smallholders to establish groups,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of the agency. (T2)
