InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU – A 920 hectare – plantation that Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD) Jaya Makmur cultivates would implement smallholders replanting program (SRP) in Village of Bukit Harapan, Sub district of Kerinci Kanan, District of Siak, Riau Province. This is part of Forum Kerja Petani Plasma Kebun Sawit (FKPPKS) which the members have 12 KUD and developed smallholders from PT Inti Indosawit Subur (IIS), the subsidiary of Asian Agri Group.
What KUD Jaya Makmur triggered the smallholders that join in KUD Produsen Berkah Lestari Jaya where the address is at Sp 7 Sub district of Kandis, District of Kampar want to learn and imitate the SRP system.
“On Thursday (1/9/2022) the smallholders from KUD Produsen Berkah Lestari Jaya came by to ours,” Sudiyono said to InfoSAWIT, Sunday (4/9/2022).
Accompanied by Katimin as the Public Relation of FKPPKS, Sudiyono mentioned, they get SRP because they have prepared themselves, developed the economic security for the members who are implementing SRP.
The coordinators also delivered lattice for other cooperation that wants to learn about SRP, such as, implementing SRP in phase, not in a whole.
“Of 920 hectares and having members more than 400 men, it means, we have about two hectares in average. It is imaginable if we implement SRP in a whole. We have no more source of income,” he said.
That is why in the first phase, the SRP covers 174 hectares only. The same numbers would be happening in 2023 and so on until all plantations (920 hectares) get the program.
They involved the local bank, Bank Riau Kepri to get fund help in the SRP which Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) provided.
“We also suggest that our fellows from other cooperation that visited us should really planted superior and certified palm oil seeds,” Sudiyono said. (T5)
