IPOA Supports Zero Export Levy

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In the meeting of Steering Committee of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency by the late of August 2022, it was decided some things, such as, the extend export levy about US$ 0 for every product of palm oil until 31 October 2022.

General Secretary of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Eddy Martono said, palm oil product export levy extension is very good because it reduces the cost and crude palm oil (CPO) price in the domestic could be more expensive.

“This automatically would make smallholders’ fresh fruit bunch (FFB) get more expensive and the effect to export activity would increase domestic market obligation (DMO) ration,” he said to InfoSAWIT, Saturday (3/9/2022).

Eddy hoped, the government could see and notice the price in international level if there is plan to implement export levy again. Do not let the moment when smallholders’ FFB gets better, get cheaper again.

“If the export levy runs again, at least, the tariff should not burden too much so that the smallholders’ FFB would not be too much cheaper,” Eddy said. (T2)
