InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The different fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price between the plasma and independent smallholders urged to review the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture Number 1 / 2018 about the Guidelines to Decide Fresh Fruit Bunch Price Produced by the Planters.
General Director of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Andi Nur Alamsyah said, he wanted that every stakeholder should be widely open and support the revision of the regulation so that in the future the regulation could protect and help the smallholders (planters) and maintain the companies’ operational.
He also explained, there would be team that involves associations from the smallholders, stakeholders to discuss the regulation. The revision of the regulation should not be in a hurry so that every side could aware of.
“There would be special team to discuss (FFB price) to get every interest and do not be suspicious or covering up everything. Be open. We hope, the smallholders get profits and the stakeholders do not get losses,” Andi said in the coordination meeting in the head quarter of Ministry of Agriculture in Jakarta, Friday (2/9/2022).
In other place, General Secretary of Serikat Petani Kelapa Sawit (SPKS), Mansuetus Darto thought, it is a must to revise FFB price regulation but in this case, there are some significant points to notice.
The points to revise should also add some options. The partnership remains still with the smallholders’ organizations; the plantation companies should purchase FFB from the cooperation/organization.
He also mentioned, the report to the local government through the district should get the report too from the plantation companies in every month namely about the lists of smallholders’ organizations. “It needs to present the witnesses. If not, the witnesses could be from one side. The K index should be available nationally,” he said to InfoSAWIT, Saturday (3/9/2022).
Darto continued, it needs to delete some irrational points, such as, the salary or workers and others in K index. It is needed still? It also needs to add development costs.
“For instance, the component of workers’ salary and rehabilitation of machine in the mills, should be no more. It needs to substitute by empowering the developed smallholders. It means, the mill would play its role in the future,” he said. (T2)
