The Stop of Export Levy is Officially Extended until the Late of October 2022

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government through the Steering Committee of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) commits to support palm oil sectors as one strategic commodity nationally.

In the meeting of the steering committee, Sunday (28/08/2022), it was decided five things, such as, the first, Export Levy about US$ 0 for every product would be available until 31 October 2022; Biodiesel Allocation would be multiplied in 2022; Developing red palm oil; Support Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate acceleration; and Support Smallholders Replanting Program (SRP).

“The extension time for export levy or US$ 0 is about to maintain the moments, such as crude palm oil (CPO) price is stable, palm cooking oil gets cheaper, and fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price gets better and the planters (smallholders) start getting the benefits,” Coordinator Minister in Economy, Airlangga Hartarto said in the virtual meeting.

Besides, for the people get the better economic activity, it is assumed, diesel demands would be increasing in the fourth quarter of 2022. That is why biodiesel program in B30 should be enough too by increasing the allocation in this year which reached 10.151.018 kiloliters (kl) to be 11.025.604 kl.

“To escalate the acceptance of palm oil products in the globe, the steering committee agreed to accelerate ISPO certificate process, such as, by locating ISPO secretariat managed by PFMA, and supporting every activity to accelerate ISPO certificate process,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

The steering committee also urged to get coordination with the legal officers as the way to accelerate SRP. Ministry of Agriculture and PFMA have the mandate to immediately do study about SRP development which now covers P0 (planting) to be First Productive Plantation (TM1). (T2)
