InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – When inaugurating Indonesia Retail Summit 2022 that Himpunan Peritel dan Penyewa Pusat Perbelanjaan Indonesia (Hippindo) did at Gedung Sarinah Jakarta, Monday (15/8/2022), Minister of Cooperation, Small and Medium Business, Teten Masduki told, the smallholders would be very happy for having additional values from processing fresh fruit bunch (FFB) to be red palm oil that will be distributed to the people.
He thought, the smallholders would not sell their FFB anymore but as what he calculated, the smallholders if they could produce 10 million tons of red palm oil per day, they would be having better income and if distributed to two sub districts around the plantation “This would strengthen red palm oil distribution as the alternative of palm cooking oil to the society,” he said.
Based on the information delivered by Chairman of Hippindo, Budhihardjo Iduansjah, Teten continued, Hippindo got orders about 200 tons of red palm oil from many restaurants in Indonesia.
“Do not hesitate. We could construct mini crude palm oil (CPO) and red palm oil mills in every one thousand hectaers,” Teten said, as quoted from Antara.
He also thanked Minister of Enterprises, Erick Thohir for supporting Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit (PPKS) in Medan, North Sumatera Province to research red palm oil as the alternative for palm cooking oil.
“In the celebration of the 77th Indonesia’s independency, the moment is how to welfare the smallholders, improve red palm oil supply to the society more equally, qualified in products, healthier, and insyaAllah it would be cheaper,” he said. (T2)
