JAKARTA – In 2021, PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk., (SSMS) kept strengthening its commitment to implement sustainable palm oil practices. The proof is that two of its subsidiaries got Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certificates, they were, PT. Sawit Multi Utama (SMU) and PT. Tanjung Sawit Abadi (TSA).
The companies even helped more than 1.000 hectares of the smallholders’ palm oil plantations to get RSPO/ISPO certificate.
Director of SSMS, Nasarudin Bin Nasir told that the company runs the business procedures by prioritizing sustainability principles by reducing chemical ingredient use which is dangerous for the soil. “We also got RSPO and ISPO certificates to make sure that SSMS’ plantations run the standard regulations,” he said in a public expose that InfoSAWIT joined by the late of May 2022.
