South Sumatera Would Publish Palm Oil Governance Regulation: Not to Get the Gap

InfoSAWIT PALEMBANG – To avoid the gap of fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price, Governor of South Sumatera, Herman Deru planned to make regulation in the form of decision and governor’s regulation. He thought, this would harmonize FFB price based on the decision of minister of agriculture to be more specific to increase the smallholders’ welfare.

"There should be no gap anymore. Do not compare one to another about FFB price. There would be reference of price,” he said, as quoted from Bisnis, Monday (8/8/2022). Herman continued, every party including Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Apkasindo) South Sumatera to encourage the smallholders’ welfare.

For information, South Sumatera Province now runs smallholders replanting program (SRP) and this should be supported by Apkasindo and the smallholders could take it for advantage.

Herman also encouraged Apkasindo to construct mill(s) (PKS) by their own effort to buy smallholders’ FFB. “If there is mill, Apkasindo would stand on their feet and would not depend on others to process FFB to be crude palm oil (CPO). At least, CPO could last longer than FFB itself,” he said. (T2)
