Be careful, CPO Could be Cheaper – Ukraine Starts Exporting Sunflower Oil

InfoSAWIT, UKRAINE – The wheat and sunflower vegetable oil producer, Ukraine in August 2022 plans to export 3 million tons of vegetable oil. 1,3 million tons would be delivered through river port in Danube.

It was announced by Vice Chairman of Ukraine Agricultural Board, Denys Marchuk, in a press conference at Ukrinform media center.

For many agricultural sheds are broken because of the temporary take by Russian military, Denys Marchuk mentioned, the Government of Ukraine searched for the alternatives to keep their agricultural products.

Prior the impact of invasion of Russia to Ukraine managed the empty supply of vegetable oil globally. This would be refilled in this very short. The crisis confirmed the pressure of costs and supply disruption in many countries.

CPO price got increasing substantially as the direct response to the possible sunflower oil supply disruption.

CPO once hit the new peak price, surpassed sub - tropical vegetable oil price, such as soybean. A few weeks after the war took place, the average vegetable oil retail price in India, such as, palm oil, soybean, sunflower oil got increasing 12,5%, 8%, and 14,4% for each. (T2)
